Public Hearing Notices

Tuesday July 15th, 2025 – 7:00 PM

Public Hearing Guidelines

If you’d like to share your thoughts on an advertised matter for which a public hearing is required, you can either speak at a public meeting or write down your comments and submit them before the meeting.

If you choose to submit your comments, please ensure that you send them by noon the day before the public hearing is scheduled.  Be sure to include your first and last name, your home address, state which application you’re commenting on, and let us know if you support it, oppose it, or have questions about it. All written comments will be read into the record of the public hearing. Anonymous comments will not be addressed.

If you plan to attend a public hearing in person, please arrive at least 10 minutes early so you have time to sign in. There will be a sign-in sheet at the entrance of the multi-purpose room on the second floor of the Community Resource and Recreation Centre, 501 Centre Street, where the public hearing will be held during a Council meeting. Anyone who signs in will receive a copy of Council’s decision, whether or not they choose to speak.

During the public hearing, the Chairperson will give the applicant an opportunity to provide an overview of their proposal. Applicants may submit a written proposal to Council in advance, which should be submitted no later than noon the day before the meeting.

The Chairperson will check who has signed in and allow those individuals to share their thoughts about the proposal. It’s important to speak directly to the Chairperson when addressing the group. Please state your first and last name clearly, as notes will be taken during the public hearing. If you have questions, you can ask them during your conversation with the Chairperson. The Chairperson may limit each person’s speaking time to 10 minutes and can decide not to hear more comments if they feel all important points have been covered. They will also decide which speakers will be heard if their comments are similar.

To make sure everyone can hear, please use the microphone at the presentation table in front of the Council when speaking.

After the public hearing concludes, no further questions may be directed to the Chair. Council will then resume their regular Council meeting following the closing of the public hearing and continue with processing the decision on the application.
