It may be summer break for many, but Council is still working hard for the community!

LMAC (short for Last Month at Council) is designed to give the residents and ratepayers of the Town of Niverville a quick look at what Council passed and approved over the last month, including helpful descriptions of terms that may not be common knowledge.

Let’s get into it!

 

July 15th, 2025 Council Meeting and Public Hearings

  • A Public Hearing was held for, and Council passed, Bylaw No. 878-25, which rezoned 2465 Krahn Road from Agriculture Limited to Residential High Density.
  • A Public Hearing was held for, and Council passed, Conditional Use C16-25 for Unit 1 – 346 Bronstone Drive, to allow for a bakery and licensed eating and drinking establishment with an outdoor patio, subject to the following conditions:
    • That the tenant supplies a waste receptacle for the patio and ensures it is emptied as necessary; and,
    • The property owner submits a revised parking plan that reflects and accommodates all current and proposed uses within the building, to ensure compliance with the Town’s Zoning Bylaw.
  • A public hearing was held for, and Council passed, Conditional Use C17-25 for 615 Wittick Street in the Niverville Business Park, to allow for the operation of a used vehicle dealership specialized in automobiles and light trucks with a gross vehicle weight of 14,000 pounds or less, as well as an automotive garage for the repair and maintenance of vehicles, subject to the following conditions:
    • The applicant enters into a Development Agreement with the Town.
  • A Public Hearing was held for, and Council passed, Conditional Use C18-25 for 758 Schultz Avenue in the Niverville Business Park, to allow for a contractor’s yard with office and warehouse space, subject to the condition that the applicant enters into a Development Agreement with the Town.
  • Council passed a resolution to provide permission for the Niverville Nighthawks Season Kickoff Event being held on September 20th, 2025, to create a noise nuisance between 8:00 pm to 1:00 am.
  • Council approved the following cheques and electronic fund transfers for payment:
    • Accounts Payable EFT: $292,406.34
    • June 26, 2025 Payroll EFT: $80,255.04
    • July 10, 2025 Payroll EFT: $63,486.27
    • Accounts Payable Cheques: $184,509.88
    • Online Banking-BKAP: $95,091.62
    • Total: $715,749.15
  • Council approved the June 30th, 2025 Financial Statement as presented.
  • Council gave 1st Reading to Bylaw No. 879-25, to rezone a lot from Agricultural Limited to Educational and Institutional.
    • A combined public hearing has been scheduled to review proposed subdivision file no. 4340-25- 9081, which will create a new lot and public road to support the future construction of a school, and for this proposed new lot to be rezoned from Agricultural Limited (AL) to Educational and Institutional (EI) with Bylaw No. 879-25, which is being done to support it’s intended use as a school.
    • The public hearing will be held on Tuesday, August 19th, 2025, at 7:00 PM, at the Niverville Community Resource & Recreation Centre.

  • Council gave first reading to Bylaw No. 880-25, the Staff Renumeration Bylaw for 2025 and 2026.
  • Council authorized the following changes to the start times of October Council Meetings:
    • Oct. 7th, 2025: Changed start time from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM
    • Oct. 21st, 2025: Changed start time from 7:00 PM to 9:00 AM

    • Please note that this meeting is taking place on the 4th Tuesday of the month of September, not the 3rd.
  • Tuesday, October 7th, 2025 – 7:00 PM
    • Please note that this meeting is taking place at 7:00 PM, instead of the usual time of 9:00 AM.
  • Tuesday, October 21st, 2025 – 9:00 AM
    • Please note that this meeting is taking place at 9:00 AM, instead of the usual time of 7:00 PM.
