There has been a lot of new business in our community recently, and this month is no exception. Council is excited to see all this potential growth and looks forward to what the future holds. Some highlights from this month:
- A conditional use was approved for a summer market to run every Friday from May to September at the Centennial Arena and in the adjacent parking lot.
- Three conditional use applications (a towing business, a semi-truck repair and storage business, and an application by IndigiVision for a production-related space) were approved for the Niverville Business Park.
- The contract for the 2026 Summer Season Flower Tender was awarded to Red Valley Plant Market and Landscaping, who submitted the lowest overall bid.

Last Month at Council (or LMAC for short) is designed to give residents and ratepayers of the Town of Niverville a quick look at what Council passed and approved over the last month, with helpful descriptions of terms that may not be common knowledge.

October 7th, 2025, Council Meeting:
- A Public Hearing was held for, and Council approved, Conditional Use C23-25, which was an application for a towing business to operate with an exterior storage/vehicle compound at 500 Wittick Street in the Niverville Business Park. This was approved on the condition that the applicant enter into a Development Agreement with the Town.
- Council approved the payment of $369,491.85 in cheque and electronic fund transfers.
- After following the Town’s due tendering process, Council awarded the contract for the Town’s Audit services for 2025-2028.
- It was awarded to the Exchange Group, which submitted the lowest bid.
October 21st, 2025, Council Meeting:
- A Public Hearing was held for, and Council approved, Conditional Use C24-25, which was an application to allow for minor maintenance of semi-trucks and storage of vehicles at Unit G – 460 Kuzenko Street (west side of the building) in the Niverville Business Park. It was approved on the conditions:
- That the property not be used as a vehicle scrap yard; and,
- That all exterior storage is enclosed within an opaque fence as per the design guidelines.
- A Public Hearing was held for, and Council approved, Conditional Use C25-25, which was an application from IndigiVision to accommodate the maintenance of production equipment, storage of vehicles, and potential use as a studio space at Unit H – 460 Kuzenko Street (east side of building) in the Niverville Business Park. It was approved on the condition that:
- The property cannot be used for a vehicle scrap yard; and,
- That all exterior storage is enclosed within an opaque fence as per the Design Guidelines.
- A Public Hearing was held for, and Council approved, Conditional Use C26-25, which was an application to permit an outdoor summer market to operate on Fridays from May to September at 1 Arena Road and the parking lot adjacent to the CPR tracks. This was approved on the condition:
- That all mobile food service vendors (e.g. food trucks) must comply with the licensing requirements set forth in the Town’s Mobile Food Service Unit Bylaw;
- That all vendors must remove personal belongings promptly following each event and ensure that the site is left clean and free of garbage or debris; and,
- That business that would ordinarily require licensing under the Town’s Licensing of Temporary For-Profit Business Bylaw must comply with all applicable licensing provisions. In cases where a business’ exemption status is unclear, the Designated Officer shall determine whether an exemption applies for this event.
- A Public Hearing was held for, and Council approved, Variance V25-25, which was an application to vary the east and south yard fence heights from six feet to 9.5 feet at 195 Ritchot Drive.
- Council approved the payment of $3,565,871.89 in cheques and electronic fund transfers
- Council approved the September 30th, 2025, Financial Statement as presented.
- Following the Town’s due tendering process, the contract for the Town of Niverville Flower Tender 2026 Summer season was awarded.
- The contract was awarded to Red Valley Plant Market and Landscaping Inc., which submitted the overall lowest bid of $11,363.44.
- Council approved updates to Schedule “A” of the Building Bylaw No. 870-24. These updates ensure the bylaw better reflects current procedures for “Access Over Town Property” permits and include the initial lot elevation staking for clarity.
