Niverville was founded in 1874 by William Hespeler, who recruited many Mennonites to the area. In 1879 Hespeler built the first grain elevator in western Canada. From there the community grew!

In 1969 Niverville was incorporated as a village and a Town in 1993.

The Town of Niverville has a many historical markers around and along the Main Street corridor. As you wander down Main Street, you will find many information plaques sharing some historical information on the Town.
