Closures, News

The Town of Niverville would like to make residents aware that properties along 2nd Avenue South may be affected by closures for parking lane, sidewalk, and approach reconstruction work that will be taking place starting as early as Tuesday, May 22nd, 2026.

This process on 2nd Avenue South will involve the reconstruction of part of the east parking lane and the south and central approaches in front of Silver Courts, as well as a portion of the sidewalk going south from the intersection with 1st Street South. This may result in temporarily affected vehicular access to the Silver Courts south and central approaches. This closure will last for approximately two weeks. Foot access to properties will still be available during this closure.

Please use caution when crossing through the work zone to enter these properties. Do not walk on fresh concrete for at least 24 hours. While the curing compound used on the top of fresh concrete can make it look cured, the concrete will only be safe to walk on the day after it is poured. If you notice any damage to fresh concrete, please email danielwiebe@whereyoubelong.ca. Do not drive on the concrete for 7 days following the concrete pour.

Please be aware that the order of projects and their time frames are subject to change without warning due to the weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

Please respect traffic control signs and delineators, as they are in place to keep residents safe and to complete the projects as efficiently as possible. If there are affected residents in your home or neighbourhood with mobility concerns regarding these projects, please let the Town of Niverville know as soon as possible so that we can plan accordingly. Flexibility and understanding will be required while these projects proceed, as there are many factors that influence when access will be available or not.

The Town of Niverville is thankful for your patience and understanding as we work to provide our community with safer roads. Please visit our website regularly for updates on our 2026 summer road repairs.

If you have any questions, comments or concerns, please feel free to contact the Town of Niverville at feedback@whereyoubelong.ca or by phone at 204-388-4600.
