Niverville Council Presents Comprehensive Daycare Strategy

web@dminUncategorized

The need for daycare spaces in the Town of Niverville is an acute and growing concern. Niverville Town Council has been listening to residents and businesses and has developed the following 4-point comprehensive daycare strategy. This strategy aims to see a minimum of 300 daycare spaces added to our community by 2030 or earlier.

“Businesses need to attract workers for our community to continue to thrive,” says Mayor of Niverville Myron Dyck. “The lack of access to daycare for parents should not be the reason that we can’t attract workers, and that is one reason why Council has created this comprehensive daycare strategy.”

This comprehensive daycare strategy includes:

  1. Working with the Province to advocate for reasonable licensing requirements to address shortfalls in community spaces.
  2. Expanding training opportunities for day care providers in the Town of Niverville.
  3. Ensuring further awareness of our grant to home-based daycares to help purchase necessary supplies (toys, cleaning supplies, food, etc.).
  4. Working with developers to provide land and/or space in buildings for day cares, and existing owners of buildings where daycare could be provided.

If you have questions about this comprehensive daycare strategy, or believe you have skills or opportunities that could help achieve its goal, please reach out to Council at feedback@whereyoubelong.ca.
