On October 5th, 2021 Council of the Town of Niverville in consultation with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) awarded a contract to Calnitsky Associates Architects Inc. of Winnipeg for schematic and detailed design of a RCMP Detachment in Niverville.

The Town has been meeting with officials from the RCMP over the last year to secure the go-forward strategy on continuing and enhancing the protective services the RCMP provides to Niverville. Through these meetings the Town and RCMP have concluded that the greatest value to the residents of Niverville is a new detachment that will be built within the Town’s Administration Office campus.

Design is anticipated to take the remainder of 2021 and progress into completion of design and construction of the detachment in 2022. The new detachment is expected to be opened and be staffed in the first half of 2023. The detachment is anticipated to bring additional officers to Niverville with upwards of four officers permanently calling Niverville their home detachment. In addition, more administrative and public services related to the RCMP will be available in Niverville.

Mayor Myron Dyck would like to thank those members of the RCMP for their openness to working with the Town on this important project for the community and looks forward to seeing their additional presence in our community and continuing Niverville’s relationship with the RCMP.
