Public UtilitiesCurrently, the Town of Niverville administers 2 water utilities, one for the residents of Fifth Avenue Estates and one for Crow Wing Developments. These water utilities are 2 separate entities although it is anticipated that in the future, the systems may be amalgamated along with the existing non-serviced part of town into one water system. The water rates charged are regulated through the Manitoba Public Utilities Board. The mandate of the board when considering the rates includes the continued supply of safe water, equality for citizens and adequate rates to keep the utility functioning. Utilities must function as separate entities, generating sufficient revenues to continue operations safely and plan for future contingencies. Fifth Avenue Water Treatment PlantResidents of Fifth Avenue estates will see the new water treatment plant at the corner of 5th Avenue and Spruce Drive become operational in summer of 2008. As per PUB Order # 166-07, the water rates for Fifth Avenue Estates are as follows:
Crow Wing Water Treatment PlantResidents of Crow Wing Development are serviced by the treatment centre located just North of the housing along Krahn Road. As per PUB Order # 49-10, the water rates for Crow Wing residents are as follows:
