 COVID-19 Update #3
Tuesday March 31st, 2020

 

The Town’s Local Emergency Response Control Group met with Niverville Town Council this morning to discuss next steps in the evolving COVID-19 Pandemic and how it effects Town functions.

The following decisions have been made:

a) Effective April 1st, 2020 – the Niverville Town Office will be closed to the public. Staff will still be working their normal hours. Residents are encouraged to connect with the office by phone at 204-388-4600 or email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.; all calls and emails will be routed to the respective department.

b) Water and Sewer bills will be sent out in April along with options for payment without coming into the office.

c) All non-emergent on-site visits by Town of Niverville staff are being suspended if the facility and people are unable to provide an environment that follows all Provincial guidelines related to safe work during COVID-19.

d) Council meetings are still scheduled to take place in April at the Niverville Heritage Centre– for any upcoming public hearings, any opinions may be shared electronically (in advance of the hearing) to the Town at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Please note that anonymous submissions will not be addressed by Council. Physical distancing mechanisms will be in full force at the meetings.

e) All Niverville Recreation Programming will be cancelled until April 30th, 2020. A further update on additional programming will be provided around April 15th.

f) All Town of Niverville facilities in particular: Niverville Centennial Arena and the Niverville Curling Rink are closed an additional two weeks until April 30th, 2020.

COVID-19 Update # 2
Thursday March 19th, 2020

 

The Town is asking all members of the public to follow the Provincial Guidelines for prevention measures to reduce the risk of infection from COVID-19.

These measures include proper hygiene, social distancing and 14 days of self-isolation for those who have either come into contact with an ill person or recently travelled internationally.

Should members of the public continue to attend to the office who are not following the guidelines, the Town will be forced to close the office to the public.

 COVID-19 Update # 1
Wednesday March 18th, 2020

 

Niverville’s Local Emergency Response Control Group met with Town Council last night to discuss next steps in the evolving COVID-19 Pandemic as it relates to Town functions and services.

The following decisions have been made:

a) Effective March 18th, 2020 – the Niverville Town Office will reduce hours (open to the public) to 9 am to 4 pm (Monday to Friday). You need JavaScript enabled to view it.; all calls and emails will be routed to the respective department.

b) External and onsite meetings are being minimized as much as possible. Virtual meetings can now be arranged upon request.

c) Council meetings are still scheduled to take place in April – for any upcoming public hearings, residents may send their opinions to the Town at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. as an alternative to attending the meeting. If you have questions on a particular proposal, please send them in advance so that a response can be provided prior to the hearing.

d) Niverville Recreation has cancelled all programs until April 15th, 2020. This situation will be reviewed around April 1st, with an update to be provided at that time.

e) The Niverville Centennial Arena and Niverville Curling Rink are closed until April 15th, 2020.

Residents are also asked to note that as per directives from the RCMP, Criminal Record Check applications and Traffic Accident Reports will not be processed in the Town Office until further notice.
