The Town of Niverville invites applications for a new Operator II position created within its Public Works & Facilities Department.

Operator – Public Works/Parks & Recreation

Under the direct supervision of the Public Works & Facilities Manager, depending on the season, the successful applicant will be responsible for custodial duties and ice maintenance for the Niverville Arena and Curling Rink and assisting the Public Works department on the Town’s water utility and the maintenance of sport facilities/fields along with other duties as assigned. The seasonal work (September 15 - March 31) at the arena/curling rink will involve shift work and working weekends. The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

  • Equipment Operating i.e. tractor or loader
  • Basic computer skills
  • Prepared to work independently
  • Prepared to work as a member of a team
  • Exposure to general mechanical skills
  • Custodial requirements of a public building
  • Ice making/maintenance
  • Ability to handle cash
  • Valid Manitoba Class 5 driver’s license
